2001 Galaxy 2.3 Ghia 20000 Miles Aircon Failure

Hi Folks

 

My Wife drives our 2001 2.3 ghia galaxy and its only covered around 20,000 easy miles. Would you believe that only 5 days out of warranty the ruddy air con failed.

 

The dealer looked at it today and tells us the compressor is seized. He's not sure whether Ford will cough up the money or not. We're arguing of course that it was probably knacked weeks ago, and we wouldnt have noticed because it's been cold!

Seek independent advice - compressor seizure highly unlikely without loud show of snapped/smoking belts damaged tensioners etc. Remember....it air con time!! :lol:

 

Oh... and don't forget the VAT :(

Mine's in on Monday to have a new compressor fitted - thank goodness for the 3 year extended ford protect warranty - thats's now easily paid for itself!!!!

Well....the good news is that our Ford dealer who we've known for a long time has managed to pursuade Ford to cover 80% of the cost so it'll be around
